Acts 1:2-3 - His Infallible Proof

Step 1: Pray. Select.

Today, as I sat down to pray, I was filled with peace in my heart. I believe it is because later this evening, I am going to pray with a group of women I hold very near and dear to my heart. I am releasing all things into the hand of the LORD and standing in expectation for wonderful things to happen in our midst.

I was thinking about the power of the Holy Spirit and how, through the Holy Spirit, Jesus positioned us to receive him after he was no longer here in the physical.

I came across Acts 1:2-3, which encompasses my understanding of the Holy Spirit's position within us to this day. Let’s begin our journey there today, friends.

Step 2: Write. Read. Circle

After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:

Acts 1:2-3 - until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

Step 3: Re-Write

With a focus on the words I circled that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart.

  • Jennifer, through the Holy Spirit, He presented by infallible proofs, speaking the things pertaining to the Kingdom.

If you are doing this alongside me today, add your name in front of your unique sentence so the Lord can speak directly to you.

Step 4: Visualize

If I close my eyes, I picture the beautiful faces of many praying women I know. Women who I have witnessed throw themselves at the altar, lift their hands and shout to the Lord in worship, and women who serve never complaining, just for the pure satisfaction of saying, I want more of you, God.

When I think of the countless times I have left worldly things behind to make more room for the Lord, I think of the freedom He granted me to shed the weight the world put on me, to walk into a kingdom cloaked in His love and grace.

What is it about the level of power we feel when we hunger for the Lord? Why do we feel cleansed when we have the Holy Spirit? I believe what He is asking me to examine this morning is the close, intimate relationship that will never harm us but instead infinitely provide for our every need. As I ponder this relationship more deeply, I understand it is a mirror of our makeup since we are created in His image. I begin to realize that if we get to know the Holy Spirit, which we can come into communion with upon baptism, what we long to overtake us is to bring the God inside of us into the forefront of our life where we can remain operational the majority of the time with our spirit leading versus our flesh.

This is why the Holy Spirit tells me that once you encounter the sweet aroma of the Lord, you no longer hunger for the things of the world. You may not be perfect, but your desires are His desires, therefore creating an abundance of blessings in alignment with your Creator and, in a sense, at peace with yourself.

I have a question for the Holy Spirit the women in my vision, so I move to Step 5.

Step 5: Ask. Seek

The requests/questions that came to mind are:

  • Holy Spirit, why did you show me the faces of certain women in my vision? Is there something I'm supposed to know about them in particular?

Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive

Here is the answer I received:

“Yes, the one thing they all have in common is that they all seek me first. You witness their unrelenting faith firsthand as a reminder of what my grace, glory, and steadfastness look like. They're strong yet humble. They are God-fearing and fearless because they walk with me every day. You, like them, understand the power of my name. You know, even in weakness, no weapon formed can prosper. This is what I meant when I wrote the commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen. These women are chosen. There are many chosen, but they must realize in their own time that they are a good fruit that will show itself in due time. There is movement in the earth, so hold tight to those who walk in the same direction, which is the path of the righteous. Do not be conformed to the ways of this world, but be transformed by the daily renewing of your mind. Empower the Holy Spirit to flow through you and let the living Messiah manifest in ways eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which the Lord, which God, hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Step 7: Pray. Confirm

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of your Son, Jesus.

Let me revive more of you inside of me every day. Let me be infallible proof that you are alive and on the throne.

Help me stay the course and not be distracted by the ways that lead me down a path of destruction. Attune my ear to hear your voice above all the noise of the world, always guiding me to seek more of you.

Please protect my journey and those who have gone before me and are currently surrounding me as we rise up, showing people the truth that you are who you say you are.

I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus and seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus - Amen!

Conclusion:

Friends, look around at the people in your life. Do they want the world, or do they long for the fruit of the Spirit? What are you most attracted to? Is it the things the world tells you you need, or do you stay true to who God created you to be, no matter what the world thinks?

If Jesus could walk with you today, what would you want to talk to him about?

Good news! He gave us the Holy Spirit to dwell within, and like the scripture says, he presents himself alive by infallible proofs. I believe we can be that proof together, where Jesus will shine through us for all to know the things of the Kingdom.

God bless you. See you soon!
